PART 2 — THE “PIG BILLIONAIRE” FINALLY REVEALED WHO HE REALLY WAS
For the next twelve months, Clara lived in the mansion everyone had warned her about.
And strangely, nothing happened.
Don Baste never touched her.
He never demanded affection.
He never even asked her to pretend they were in love.
Instead, he seemed determined to make her life as comfortable as possible.
He quietly paid off her father’s debt.
He arranged medical treatment for Clara’s mother.
He even discovered that Clara had always dreamed of opening a small bakery and gave her a building in the city to start one.
Yet whenever Clara thanked him, he simply shrugged.
“It’s nothing.”
But there was something strange about him.
Every evening, precisely at nine, Don Baste locked himself inside a private room.
No servants were allowed inside.
Not even Clara.
And every morning, he emerged looking exhausted.
Clara began noticing other things, too.
The wheelchair.
The sweating.
The scars.
The enormous body everyone mocked.
Sometimes they didn’t seem quite real.
Once, Clara accidentally touched his arm while helping him adjust his jacket.
She felt something unusual beneath the fabric.
Almost like a layer.
Don Baste immediately pulled away.
“Don’t.”
His voice was so serious that Clara stepped back.
“I’m sorry.”
He stared at her for several seconds.
Then his expression softened.
“It’s better if you don’t ask questions.”
Clara respected his wish.
Until their first wedding anniversary.
That evening, the mansion was unusually quiet.
There were no guests.
No photographers.
No extravagant celebration.
Only a small dinner prepared for two.
Afterward, Don Baste wheeled himself into their bedroom.
Clara followed carrying a small gift.
“I know you don’t like celebrations,” she said, “but I wanted to give you something.”
He looked at the package.
“What is it?”
“A watch.”
For the first time, Clara saw something resembling genuine emotion in his eyes.
“You shouldn’t have.”
“I wanted to.”
He looked down at the gift.
Then suddenly, he said something that made Clara’s smile disappear.
“Clara, tonight I’m going to show you something.”
“What?”
“The reason I married you.”
She stared at him.
“What do you mean?”
Don Baste locked the bedroom door.
Then he reached behind his neck.
Clara watched in confusion as his fingers found something beneath the skin-colored material covering his face.
He pulled.
And Clara screamed.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”
The man’s enormous appearance began changing before her eyes.
The heavy facial features came away.
The artificial scars disappeared.
The sweating was revealed to be carefully created.
Even the massive body that everyone had laughed at was partly a sophisticated disguise.
Piece by piece, the “Pig Billionaire” disappeared.
And standing before Clara was a completely different man.
Tall.
Athletic.
Sharp-jawed.
With dark hair and striking eyes.
A face that looked familiar.
Clara stumbled backward.
“I’ve seen you before…”
The man nodded.
“You have.”
Her mind raced.
Then she remembered.
Years earlier, before poverty had swallowed her family, Clara had attended a charity event with her father.
A young man had quietly donated millions to help struggling families.
The newspapers had called him one of the country’s most eligible bachelors.
His photograph had appeared everywhere.
Clara had seen that face.
But she couldn’t understand.
“That’s impossible.”
The man looked at her sadly.
“My real name isn’t Don Baste.”
He explained that the billionaire persona had been created after several attempts had been made to target his family and steal control of his business empire.
The wheelchair, the weight, the scars, even the arrogant personality had all been part of an elaborate disguise.
He needed to know who could be trusted.
And when Clara’s father offered her in exchange for the debt, he saw an opportunity.
But not the opportunity Clara imagined.
“I didn’t marry you because I wanted a servant,” he said.
“I married you because I wanted to know whether there was still someone in this world who could see a person instead of a fortune.”
Clara’s eyes filled with tears.
“And you tested me?”
“Yes.”
“That was cruel.”
“I know.”
He lowered his head.
“And I’m sorry.”
For a long moment, neither spoke.
Then Clara asked the question that mattered most.
“What happens now?”
He looked at her.
“Now you are free.”
He reached into a drawer and placed a folder on the table.
Inside were divorce papers.
And beside them was a document transferring the bakery, the house, and enough money for Clara to live independently for the rest of her life.
“You don’t owe me anything,” he said.
Clara stared at the papers.
Then she slowly pushed them back toward him.
“I don’t want a divorce.”
He looked stunned.
“Why?”
“Because the man everyone laughed at was kinder to me than most handsome men I’ve ever met.”
She smiled through her tears.
“And I didn’t fall in love with your face.”
He didn’t move.
“I fell in love with the person who was hiding behind it.”
For the first time, the man known to the world as the “Pig Billionaire” smiled without pretending.
One year later, Clara opened her bakery.
The opening attracted hundreds of people.
But the biggest surprise came when Don Baste arrived—not in the wheelchair, not wearing the disguise, and not hiding his face.
The crowd went silent.
Everyone finally discovered the truth.
The “monster” they had mocked for years had never been what they believed.
And Clara?
She stood beside him proudly.
Because sometimes the greatest mistake people make is judging someone by the mask they were forced to wear.
And sometimes…
the person everyone tells you to fear is the very person who was protecting you all along.
