The Police Opened the Door… and Discovered Why Lidia Needed 60 Kilos of Beef Every Day

PART 2 — The Police Opened the Door… and Discovered Why Lidia Needed 60 Kilos of Beef Every Day

The officers stood frozen in the doorway.

For several seconds, nobody spoke.

The room looked nothing like what they had expected.

There were no bodies.

No dead animals.

No illegal butcher operation.

Instead, the entire abandoned building had been transformed into something that made no sense at first.

Along the walls were dozens of large metal containers.

Some were filled with water.

Others contained blankets, medical supplies, canned food, and children’s clothing.

But what shocked the officers most was the sound coming from the back of the room.

A faint whimper.

Then another.

One officer raised his flashlight.

“There’s someone back there.”

Lidia immediately stepped forward.

“Please,” she begged. “Don’t frighten them.”

The officer turned toward her.

“Who is in this building?”

Lidia began crying.

“My son.”

The butcher, Ovidiu, stared at her.

“But you told me your son died years ago.”

“He did.”

The room went silent.

Lidia wiped her face.

“My son died twelve years ago.”

“Then who is back there?”

She looked toward the darkness.

“Children.”

The officers slowly moved deeper inside.

And then they saw them.

Sixteen frightened children were sitting together behind a makeshift barrier.

Some looked barely old enough to walk.

Others were teenagers.

They were thin, exhausted, and terrified of the uniforms.

One little boy immediately grabbed Lidia’s hand.

“Are they taking us away?”

Lidia fell to her knees.

“No, sweetheart. You’re safe now.”

The officers finally understood the strange purchases.

The sixty kilos of beef hadn’t been for one family.

Lidia had been feeding the children.

For months.

But that raised an even bigger question.

“Where did these children come from?”

Lidia looked toward the metal door.

“That’s why I kept coming here.”

She explained that her son had discovered a trafficking operation years earlier.

He tried to expose it.

Instead, he disappeared.

Everyone believed he was dead.

But before he vanished, he had hidden evidence and told his mother about a secret network that moved vulnerable children through abandoned properties.

Lidia had spent years searching for them.

And recently, she discovered this building.

The children were being kept there temporarily.

She couldn’t call the police immediately.

She was afraid someone inside the police department was helping the criminals.

So she started bringing food herself.

Every day.

Sixty kilos.

Enough to keep everyone alive.

Ovidiu stared at her in disbelief.

“But why did you look so afraid?”

Lidia’s eyes filled with tears.

“Because they found me.”

The officers exchanged glances.

“Who?”

Before she could answer, the lights suddenly went out.

Everyone froze.

A loud metallic sound came from outside.

Then the children began screaming.

Someone had locked the main entrance from the outside.

One officer immediately reached for his radio.

No signal.

Lidia grabbed his sleeve.

“They’re here.”

“Who?”

She pointed toward the windows.

Three dark figures were standing outside.

And one of them slowly raised a phone to the glass.

On the screen was a photograph of Lidia.

Taken that very morning.

The officer’s face changed.

Lidia whispered:

“They’ve been watching us the entire time.”

Then the building door began to shake.

Someone was trying to break it open.

And this time, Lidia wasn’t the only one who was terrified.

Because the police had just realized they weren’t dealing with a missing-person case.

They had walked directly into the middle of something much bigger.
