The Secret Naomi Revealed Before Roland Could Say “I Do”

PART 2 — The Secret Naomi Revealed Before Roland Could Say “I Do”

The courtyard went completely silent.

Naomi stood beside the two children, one hand resting gently on each of their shoulders.

Roland stared at them.

Then at her.

“Who are they?”

Naomi looked directly into his eyes.

“They’re your children.”

A collective gasp moved through the crowd.

Roland took one step backward.

“No.”

Naomi didn’t raise her voice.

“You asked who they were.”

She looked down at the twins.

“They’re five years old.”

Roland’s face went pale.

“That’s impossible.”

Naomi almost smiled.

“It’s actually very simple.”

She pulled two photographs from her purse.

One showed the twins as newborns.

The other was a hospital document.

Roland stared at the papers.

His hands began shaking.

“You knew?”

Naomi nodded.

“I knew from the day they were born.”

“Then why didn’t you tell me?”

For the first time, Naomi’s expression hardened.

“Because you made it very clear five years ago that you didn’t want me.”

Roland looked around.

His wealthy guests were staring.

His bride stood frozen near the altar.

“You could have called me,” he whispered.

Naomi’s eyes filled with tears.

“I did.”

Roland’s face changed.

“What?”

“Three times.”

She reached into her purse and pulled out an old phone.

“I called the number you gave me.”

“I left messages.”

“I sent letters.”

“Nothing.”

Roland shook his head.

“I never received anything.”

Naomi looked at him.

“Maybe you should ask your assistant.”

Roland turned sharply.

“My assistant?”

Naomi nodded.

“She was the one who answered my first call.”

The bride suddenly stepped forward.

“Roland…”

But he didn’t hear her.

He was staring at Naomi.

“What did she tell you?”

Naomi’s voice became quiet.

“She told me you didn’t want to hear from me.”

Then she looked toward the altar.

“And I believed her.”

Roland’s expression collapsed.

He turned toward his assistant, who was standing near the entrance.

She immediately looked away.

“Is that true?”

The woman said nothing.

Roland’s voice rose.

“Answer me!”

She finally whispered:

“She told me you didn’t want your past coming back.”

The courtyard erupted in whispers.

The senator’s daughter removed her engagement ring.

Roland stared at her.

“Wait.”

She shook her head.

“You invited your ex-wife here to humiliate her.”

She looked at the twins.

“And instead, you discovered the family you abandoned.”

Then she walked away from the altar.

Roland didn’t follow her.

He couldn’t take his eyes off the children.

He slowly approached them.

The little boy stepped behind Naomi.

The girl didn’t move.

Roland knelt.

“I’m your dad.”

The little girl looked at him carefully.

Then she asked the question that destroyed him.

“Why didn’t you come find us?”

Roland opened his mouth.

Nothing came out.

Naomi placed a hand on her daughter’s shoulder.

“You don’t have to answer today.”

Then she turned toward the guests.

“I didn’t come here for his money.”

“I didn’t come here to ruin his wedding.”

“I came because my children deserved to know where they came from.”

Roland stood.

“Naomi, please.”

She looked at him.

“For five years, I raised them alone.”

“You don’t get to become their father because you finally discovered they exist.”

He lowered his head.

“What can I do?”

Naomi looked toward the luxury cars, the mansion, and the enormous wedding setup.

Then she said the words everyone remembered:

“You can start by learning that children aren’t something you get to abandon and reclaim when they’re convenient.”

She took her children’s hands.

And walked away.

But before they reached the gate, Roland’s attorney came running after them.

“Naomi, wait!”

She turned.

The attorney was holding a thick folder.

“There’s something you need to know about the night Roland threw you out.”

Naomi froze.

The attorney looked at Roland.

“Your husband didn’t actually own this estate.”

Roland’s face went white.

“He was only managing it.”

Naomi stared at the folder.

“Then who owns it?”

The attorney looked directly at her.

“You do.”
