Clara Was About to Be Convicted… Until Little Idan Stood Up and Revealed What His Grandmother Had Hidden

PART 2 — Clara Was About to Be Convicted… Until Little Idan Stood Up and Revealed What His Grandmother Had Hidden

The courtroom was packed.

Clara sat alone at the defense table, her hands tightly clasped together.

Across from her sat Hamilton’s attorney, surrounded by files and expensive suits.

Behind him sat Margaret.

She looked completely calm.

Almost satisfied.

The prosecutor stood and addressed the judge.

“The defendant had access to the mansion, knew where the family kept its valuables, and had a financial motive.”

Clara lowered her eyes.

She wanted to scream that she was innocent.

But every time she opened her mouth, someone with more money and influence seemed ready to silence her.

Then the courtroom doors suddenly opened.

Everyone turned.

A nanny stood there, breathless.

And beside her was little Idan.

He had escaped her grasp.

“Idan!” Adam shouted.

The boy ran straight toward Clara.

“Clara!”

He threw his arms around her.

Clara immediately began crying.

“I missed you too, sweetheart.”

Margaret stood up angrily.

“Take him out of here!”

But Idan refused to move.

“No!”

The judge raised an eyebrow.

“Who is this child?”

Adam stood.

“My son, Your Honor.”

Idan looked directly at the judge.

“I know who took Grandma’s necklace.”

The entire courtroom went silent.

Margaret’s face suddenly lost its color.

“Idan, stop.”

The boy shook his head.

“Grandma told me not to tell Daddy.”

Adam froze.

“What did she tell you?”

Idan pointed toward his grandmother.

“She put the shiny box in her bedroom.”

Margaret immediately shouted:

“That is a lie!”

But the young legal intern helping Clara suddenly stood.

“Your Honor, may I ask the child one question?”

The judge nodded.

The intern crouched beside Idan.

“Idan, did you actually see your grandmother put something in her room?”

“Yes.”

“When?”

“Before Clara left.”

The attorney looked at Clara.

Then at the judge.

“Your Honor, I believe we need to investigate this immediately.”

Margaret started shaking.

“This child doesn’t understand what he saw.”

Idan’s voice became louder.

“I do understand!”

He reached into his little backpack.

“I brought this.”

He pulled out a folded piece of paper.

It was a drawing.

Clara recognized it instantly.

It showed the mansion.

The bedroom.

And a small red box underneath a bed.

The courtroom erupted in whispers.

Adam stared at his mother.

“Mom…”

Margaret backed away.

“You’re all being ridiculous.”

But the judge ordered the sheriff to accompany officers to the Hamilton mansion.

Less than an hour later, they returned.

And one of the officers carried a small velvet box.

Clara’s heart stopped.

The missing jewel was inside.

Margaret’s attorney immediately asked for a recess.

But it was too late.

The prosecutor turned toward Margaret.

“Mrs. Hamilton, would you like to explain why the stolen necklace was found hidden in your bedroom?”

Margaret said nothing.

Adam looked devastated.

“Mom, why?”

She finally looked at him.

Her cold expression disappeared.

“I didn’t steal it.”

“Then why was it in your room?”

Margaret’s lips trembled.

“Because I was protecting this family.”

Clara stared at her.

“From what?”

Margaret looked directly at Adam.

“Your wife didn’t die naturally.”

Adam froze.

“What did you say?”

Margaret swallowed.

“Your wife discovered something about the family finances before she died.”

The courtroom became silent again.

Margaret continued.

“She was going to expose someone.”

Adam’s face turned pale.

“Who?”

Margaret looked toward Clara.

And then she said the words that made everyone gasp.

“Your father.”

Clara stared at her in disbelief.

Adam stepped backward.

“My father died twelve years ago.”

“I know.”

Margaret’s voice cracked.

“But before he died, he left something behind.”

She pointed toward the stolen jewelry box.

“A key.”

The judge ordered the box opened again.

Inside the velvet lining was a tiny hidden compartment.

And inside that compartment was a folded document.

Adam opened it.

His eyes moved across the page.

Then he looked at Clara.

“Clara…”

“What is it?”

Adam’s voice trembled.

“This isn’t about the necklace.”

He held up the document.

“It names the person who has been secretly controlling my family’s money for years.”

Clara stared at him.

“Who?”

Adam looked toward his mother.

Margaret closed her eyes.

And before anyone could say another word, the courtroom doors opened again.

A man in a dark suit walked inside.

He looked at Adam.

Then at Clara.

And said:

“I’m here because I know exactly what happened to your mother.”
